The need today that must be met
for those who are the church
is the practice of God’s doctrine
and crowns of which we search

making a mockery of the Lord
happens on Sunday morn
when Pharisees proclaim their God
and the Spirit is scorned

an hour a week is not enough
to worship God with love
and to refrain from daily prayer
saddens the Lord above

a Christian does not serve himself
feeling smug being saved
when the world needs a helping hand
and Satan has his way

that’s why our Lord gave a gift
for each of us to use
to serve Him well both night and day
in all that we pursue

does the world seek the life you have

Pharisee or saint of the Lord
how do others see you
a guiding light they can follow
or of no genuine value
